So, you have checked out our website, come to a meeting and or spoken to one of our many happy members and you have decided the FMPTA is for you. Excellent, we are happy to hear that. Your next question is probably, "How Do I Join?" and "Who Do I Sell My Soul To?". Well this page will help you with the first question, you do not need to sell your soul to anyone to join so that takes care of the second question. There are a couple of ways to join the FMPTA. The easiest way is to come to a chapter meeting, click the "Meeting Information" button at the top of the page for the date and time of the next meeting. Another way to join is to determine your level of membership, and write a check for your membership level as described below. You can print out a copy of the application at the bottom of this page. Once you have filled it out, you can mail it, along with your check made out to "FMPTA" to the address indicated on the application. There are several levels of membership and one will be right for you. Check out the descriptions below and make your decision, or ask one of our officers and/or board members for help. Categories of Membership: 1. PROFESSIONAL Membership. Any individual directly engaged in the motion picture, television, video or recording industries in the state of Florida, or in any business or occupation directly related thereto shall be eligible for Individual membership. 2. BUSINESS Membership. Any person, company, organization or collective bargaining unit engaged in the motion picture, television, video or recording industries in the state of Florida; or in any business or occupation directly related thereto, and who is licensed as a business or incorporated in the state of Florida, shall be eligible for Corporate Membership. 3. STUDENT Membership. Any person enrolled or engaged in a course of study in film, television, theatrical arts, or in any of the communications fields at any accredited college, university, secondary, trade or industry related school and not employed in the industry shall be eligible for Student Membership. 4. ASSOCIATE Membership. Any person, firm or corporation not eligible for membership in one of the above categories shall be eligible for Associate Membership. 5. HONORARY Membership. Any person whose contribution or outspoken support of the industry and/or goals of the FMPTA makes their public association with the FMPTA advantageous to the organization. The name of any person recommended by a majority of a Chapter Board of Directors must be submitted to the State Board of Directors for approval. The State Board of Directors may independently award said memberships. If approved s/he shall not pay dues, vote, hold office, or chair a committee. Proposed Honorary Members may only be approved by a majority vote of the State Board of Directors. 6. LIFETIME Membership. Any member or former member whose contribution to the FMPTA has earned him/her the highest esteem of its members. The name of any person recommended by a majority of a Chapter Board of Directors must be submitted to the State Board of Directors for approval. The State Board of Directors may independently award said memberships. If approved s/he shall not pay dues, but may vote, hold office, or chair a committee. Proposed Lifetime Members may only be approved by a majority vote of the State Board of Directors. 7. INSTITUTIONAL Membership. Any Florida non-profit or not-for-profit organization, middle or high school, or trade association whose members/faculty desire to participate in FMPTA meetings and activities. Representatives shall not pay dues, vote, hold office, or chair a committee. Membership Fees are as follows:
