And The Winners Are!

Last night, the 28th, we screened the 12 "Best of Jacksonville" films at the Historic Florida Theatre.  Up for grabs were over 16 individual achievement awards, Best Use of Character, Best Use of Prop, and Best Use of Line of Dialog.  There were cash prizes awarded as well for Best Student Film, receiving the Jacksonville Film & Television Office Prize of $500.00 (co-sponsored by the Florida Theatre); Audience Choice Award Group A, receiving the Don Davis Audience Choice Award of $300.00; Audience Choice Award Group B, receiving the Don Davis Audience Choice Award of $300.00; and of course the main award Best 48 Hour Film Jacksonville 2008, receiving the PRI Productions Eye Prize of $500.00.

Everyone who attended had a great time and the partying went on at three different locations downtown.  Some revelers went to the "Gas Knob Pub" down by the arena (formerly Amsterdam Skye), others went to "London Bridge" to celebrate with Mad Cowford.  Teams Somebody Call An Ambulance and Jacksonville.com's 14B448 partied over at Twisted Martini.

An excellent ending to a hugely successfull second year.

Thank you so very much to everyone who participated or supported our event this year, because of the hundreds of you, this event is even bigger and better and will continue to grow and get better.

 My Sincerest Regards,

 Mac McDonald
